First of all, let me start off by welcoming you to my blog. I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I have been creating Windows forms applications professionally for about 5 years.
Prior to that, I was a VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) programmer. VBA is also known as Visual Basic 6. VBA is the code behind Microsoft Office applications. I mostly focused on creating Microsoft Access and Excel applications. I started to teach myself .Net programming as a way to advance my skills.
Since VBA is a form of the BASIC programming language, it seemed natural for me to try Visual Basic .Net before I tried to learn C#. Well, that didn’t last long. I quickly realized that C# is way more popular than Visual Basic. There were more code samples, tutorials, books, and videos available for C# than there were for Visual Basic, so I dove head first into C# and I am glad I did.
I have a bachelors degree in Information Technology. I am married with 2 children and have 2 dogs and a cat. I work as a Winforms developer. I write programs that interface with a Microsoft SQL Server back-end, so I feel pretty comfortable as a SQL Server developer.
If you have ideas for topics and would like me to write on a particular feature of C#, please let me know.
